At Greenwood’s Tree Care, it’s our aim to recycle as much of our waste products as is possible from our work across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and across the South East.
Our residential and commercial tree surgery projects can produce large quantities of wood chip which can be put to a range of uses from residential gardening through to biomass for power plants.
Wood chip comes in a variety of grades, and the type that you choose will depend on its eventual purpose. The different sizes, densities and wood types will determine a number of important factors such as their combustibility, insulation and ability to retain moisture.
We use the very latest Bandit wood chippers to ensure that the wood chip we create is of a consistently high, reliable quality.
Arboricultural arisings make up a fantastic natural source of wood chippings which are perfect for suppressing weeds in your flower beds as well as keeping moisture in the soil during periods of warmer weather.
We can also supply pure hardwood chippings which are more attractive and hard wearing than our soft wood/mixed variants. These qualities make them perfect for decorative bedding, pathways, playgrounds and equestrian uses.
Biomass is a renewable energy which creates far less harmful gases than many key pollutants such as methane, carbon dioxide and conventional fossil fuels. We believe that this is the fuel of the future which can drive energy production in a safe, sustainable and environmentally friendlier way.
After the trees have been pruned or felled the waste material is then chipped and brought back to our fully licensed recycling facility in Chobham, Surrey where it is graded into different products and shipped by us to power stations, industrial boilers, equestrian yards or residential clients for renewable energy production.
The wood chip grading is based on its size and quality, and we supply whole tree wood chip as well as pure log (Virgin Cord) chip to G30, G50 and G100 grades.
